For me, travel blogging isn’t just about writing great articles or unique tips. It’s about sharing great photos too. Instagram is my favourite way to see other people’s travel experiences and get some inspiration for my next trip. Hey – there’s a #travelporn hashtag for a reason, right?! Here are my top instagram users who post pictures of their cities and why you should follow them.
#1 lindaberlin, Berlin
Having spent our first few days as a married couple celebrating with a Berlin mini moon, I have some particularly fond memories of this city. Lindaberlin‘s images of this wonderful place show a different side throughout the seasons. If there’s one thing I love the most, it’s her eye for the incredible Berlin architecture.
#2 ypldn, London
I lived in London for six years and barely saw half of the beautiful stuff ypldn finds and posts on his Instagram! A London tour guide in the flesh, it feels like he’s taking you on a virtual tour of the city’s most vibrant and artistic places as you scroll through his feed. He knows a thing or two about Art Deco, and there are plenty of beautiful examples to see.
#3 newyorkcity, New York
A fashion and city Instagram user, Newyorkcity is new to my follow list. I was struck by her eye for giving just a ‘glimpse’ in her photos, so you feel like you’re getting a peek into the excitement of New York. If you love the city’s skyline already, you’re about to fall even deeper into it.
#4 mikekus, Bath
From Vegas and Sicily to Bath and even Chichester, mikekus’ instagram feed is packed with delightful images from all over the world. The images of the UK are my favourite, however. I have been on a Bath city break, but through his pictures it kinda feels like I’ve been there longer. Add him to your follow list if you want to see a side of the UK that you’ve never seen before.
#5 Lyricyst, San Francisco
Ahh, San Francisco, you are lovely to photograph. Lyricyst does it so well too, particularly ‘top of the hill’ views from all over the city. Another great eye for structure, he also manages to find amazing graffiti and hidden messages across San Francisco. He’s recently been to Tokyo, so expect some stunning temple shots too.
